A man who is yet to be identified was gunned down at the Corner of Belmont Valley Road and St. Francois Valley Road, Belmont earlier on Thursday 11th July 2024.
• Around 7:00am, residents of the area heard a series of loud explosions and went to investigate.
• Upon their investigations, they observed a man lying on the roadway in a pool of blood.
• The police and emergency health services were notified, however, by the time they arrived at the scene, the victim succumbed to his wounds.
• A DMO visited the scene, pronounced the man dead and ordered his body be removed from the scene.
This was the second murder that took place in Belmont for the month thus far.
Just on Wednesday 3rd July, 2024, 21-year-old Levei Gloud of Gonzales and Cunupia was fatally shot while attending a wake at Upper St. Francois Valley, Layan Hill in Belmont.
