A man was stabbed to death following an altercation with another man in Arouca on Wednesday 19th April, 2023.
• The deceased was identified only by the alias “Orthodox”.
• Around 8:30pm on Wednesday, Orthodox was stabbed during an altercation with another man at Upper William Trace, Five River, Arouca.
• On Thursday 20th April, 2023, the suspect who stabbed Orthodox, went back to the scene, where he found him dead and subsequently went to the Arouca Police station to make a report.
• The suspect told the officers that he was on his way home from work on Wednesday, when he was confronted by the victim, who struck him with a piece of wood.
• A struggle reportedly ensued, and the suspect pulled out a knife and stabbed Orthodox before fleeing the scene.
• Around 6:00pm, yesterday, officers of the Northern Division Task Force, went to the location where they found Orthodox’s lifeless body with a wound to the back of his head.
• The DMO was summoned to the scene and he ordered that the body be removed pending a forensic autopsy.
• AG ASP Ramharrack of the Northern Division along with Insp. John, W/Cpl Thompson and Cpl Emmanuel of the Region 2 Homicide Bureau of Investigations were among the officers at the scene.
