A man was shot dead and his car was stolen outside his Barataria workplace on Tuesday 28th March, 2023.
• The victim was identified as 29-year-old Shaquille Stewart who was an employee at Sunshine Snacks.
• Around 10:15pm, Stewart was sitting in his black Nissan Sylphy, outside his workplace on Bhagoutie Trace, Barataria, when a gunman approached and shot him.
• A co-worker heard the gunshot and went to investigate when he discovered Stewart suffering from a gunshot injury to the left side of his chest and his car missing.
• The co-worker subsequently contacted the police and took Stewart to the hospital where he was declared dead around 10:30pm.
• Crime scene investigators later visited the scene and found one (1) spent 40 calibre shell casing.
• Stewart’s car was allegedly recovered in Valencia early on Wednesday morning
