A man was shot dead and another injured during a shooting in Maraval on Saturday 8th July, 2023.
• The deceased was identified as Tevin Morrison aka “Piggy” while the injured man was identified as 41-year-old Brian Eastman aka “Tools”.
• Eastman was reportedly sitting in his Mercedes Benz vehicle with Morrison and another unidentified man along saddle road, Maraval, near Maraval Plaza, when a black Elantra approached them.
• The occupants of the vehicle started firing shots at the trio and they attempted to escape their attackers by reversing along.
• Eastman’s vehicle subsequently crashed into a business place at Maraval Plaza and the third occupant of the vehicle managed to open the door and escaped.
• Two occupants of the other vehicle emerged from their car and fire more shots at Eastman and Morrison before re-entering their car and fleeing the scene.
• Morrison died in the back seat of the car while Eastman was taken to the Port-of-Spain general hospital for treatment.
• A passerby alerted the police about the incident who responded and recovered more than 20 5.56 spent shells at the scene.
