A man was shot and wounded at his home in Rousillac on Saturday 22nd July, 2023.
• The victim was identified as 31-year-old Amar Ramsingh of Rousillac.
• Ramsingh was reportedly asleep at his home along the Southern Main Road when he was awoken by three masked men in his bedroom.
• A fight ensued between them and one of the suspects fired a gunshot, hotting Ramsingh in the waist.
• The suspects subsequently fled the scene and Ramsingh raised an alarm and the police and emergency health services were notified.
• A team of officers led by PC Ramdath and PC Jaglal responded and conveyed Ramsingh to the San Fernando General Hospital where he was treated.
• The shooting allegedly stemmed from a land dispute.
