A man was shot and killed in Malick, Barataria on Sunday 9th July, 2023.
• The deceased was identified as 24-year-old Kalum Williams of 9th Street, Malick, Barataria.
• Around 1:30pm, Williams reportedly left his home to go meet a friend at Valley Road, Upper 6th Avenue, Malick, Barataria.
• While there, residents heard several loud explosions and upon investigating, they discovered Williams lying on the roadway, suffering from multiple gunshot injuries.
• The police and paramedics were notified and a team of officers led by Insp John, Cpl Dhill, Cpl Daniel, PC Ali, PC Morris, PC Maraj, and PC Kissoon, among others, responded, however, Williams succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
• Crime scene investigators also visited the scene and recovered 11 spent 9mm shells.
