A man was shot and killed in Cocorite on Thursday 13th July, 2023.
• The deceased was identified as 40-year-old Dillon De Silva of the Cocorite area.
• Around 12:30pm, De Silva was at John Street in Cocorite when gunmen approached and shot him multiple times.
• A relative who heard the gunshots investigated and discovered De Silva’s lifeless body bleeding on the roadway.
• A report was made to the police who were informed that the suspects were seen fleeing the scene in a black vehicle.
• Officers from the Port of Spain Division, later intercepted the vehicle and apprehended the suspects believed to be involved in De Silva’s murder.
The last murder that took place in the Cocorite area was on Tuesday 04th April, 2023 when 52-year-old Brendon Babaste was shot and killed in Waterhole, Cocorite.
