A man was shot and killed by police at a house located at Cosmos Street, Coconut Drive Morvant around 10:05pm on Tuesday 27th September 2022.
• According to police, when officers arrived at the location to execute a search warrant for arms and ammunition, and as they proceeded to a room at the home, the suspect, identified as Richard Ferriar, pointed a firearm pointed in the direction of the officers.
• The officer then fired several shots in the direction of the Ferriar. He was immediately taken then taken to the Mt Hope Hospital where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
• According to the police report, PCs Shah, Marshall and Villarel, later identified Ferriar as the suspect who shot at them on Monday 19th September 2022 when they responded to a report of a robbery on the Priority Bus Route Aranguez.
• Ferriar had managed to escape capture but two other men were arrested and charged.
• It was also reported that Ferriar was involved in several other robberies in the San Juan area.
