A man was shot and killed at Valley Drive Upper Sixth Avenue, Malick Barataria on Tuesday 8th November, 2022.
• The deceased has been identified as 33-year-old Mark Gilbert of Eight Street, Upper Sixth Avenue, Malick Barataria. He was declared dead at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex in Mt. Hope where he was taken by police.
• Around 2:40 pm on Tuesday 9th November 2022, residents of Valley Drive heard several loud explosions and contacted the police.
• Sergeant Pierre, WPC Nakhid and PC Mark responded together with ag/Corporal Ramkissoon and a party of officers from the North Eastern Division Task Force, and upon arrival they found the victim lying on the roadway and suffering from what appeared to be gunshot wounds.
• The victim showed signs of life and was conveyed to Mt. Hope but he was declared ‘dead on arrival at 3:00 pm.
