A man was shot and killed at the vendor’s mall along the Chaguanas main road on Sunday 02nd July, 2023.
• The deceased was identified as 26-year-old Daryl Mc Carty aka “One Eye”, a father of three of Caroni Savannah Road, Charlieville.
• Around 8:30pm, Daryl was reportedly at the vendor’s mall with a group of persons, when a white Nissan B15 vehicle occupied by three men pulled up alongside him.
• One of the suspects, who had on a mask, alighted from the vehicle and fired several shots at the victim before making his escape.
• Daryl sustained multiple gunshot injuries and died at the scene of the shooting.
• Crime scene investigators later visited the scene and recovered 12 9mm spent shell casings.
The last murder that took place in the Chaguanas area was on Tuesday 20th June, 2023, when the body of a man was found at the side of the roadway in Perseverance Village, Lalla Street.
• The deceased was identified as Nigel Eastman aka “Bago” of Mt Pleasant Road, Hilltop Drive, Springvale, Claxton Bay.
