A man was shot and killed at a gas station in Port-of-Spain on Sunday 16th June, 2024.
• The deceased was identified as 35-year-old Jesten Wendell Superville aka “Robo” and “Jesse” of Picton Road, Laventille.
• Around 7:50pm, Superville was pumping fuel in a grey Kia Cerato registered PDX 347 at St Christopher Gas Station along Wrightson Road, Port-of-Spain, when a white Hyundai Elantra registered PEB 347 pulled up alongside him.
• Two men alighted from the vehicle and fired several shots at Superville, hitting him multiple times about the body before fleeing the scene.
• Persons who witnessed the incident subsequently notified the police and emergency health services and Ag. Sgt Young and PC James responded.
• When they arrived at the scene, they discovered Superville’s lifeless body lying on the ground bleeding from several gunshot injuries.
• The officers contacted their colleagues who responded along with a DMO who viewed the body, made their pronouncement and ordered it be removed from the scene.
• Crime scene investigators PC Ramesar and WPC Baptiste also visited the scene and recovered several spent shells.
• Investigations are ongoing.
This was the seventh murder that took place in the Port-of-Spain Division for the month thus far.
The last murder that was recorded in the Port-of-Spain Division was on Wednesday 12th June, 2024, when the decomposing body of a man who is yet to be identified was found floating in a river near the Beetham water treatment plant.
