A man was killed following a car accident along the Uriah Butler Highway early on Friday 22nd September, 2023.
• The deceased was identified as 39-year-old Rishard Hosein of Soldado Road in Lange Park.
• Around 2:45am, Hosein was proceeding south along the Uriah Butler Highway when he got a ‘bad drive’ from another truck near Guayamare.
• He swerved to avoid the collision, however, his vehicle crashed and he died at the scene.
• Eyewitnesses notified the police and paramedics and a team of officers led by Insp Harrylal and Cpl Oliver responded and declared Hosein dead.
This was the 71st Fatal Road traffic accident that took place for the year thus far and the second for this week.
Just on Monday 18th September, 2023, 88-year-old Sumintra Dabiesingh of Scott Street, San Fernando died, while the driver and a 10-year-old boy were injured following a road traffic accident along Papourie Road, Diamond Village in San Fernando.
