A man was gunned down at Bon Air, Phase 1, Arouca on Sunday 02nd July, 2023.
• The deceased was identified as 24-year-old Jabarie Wharwood aka “Bongie” of 6th Avenue, Bon Air, Arouca.
• Around 10:30pm, Wharwood was walking on the roadway near his home, when a silver Nissan B14 pulled up next to him.
• One of the occupants fired several shots at Wharwood before driving off.
• Wharwood sustained multiple gunshot injuries and the police and paramedics were subsequently contacted.
• A team of officers led by Sgt Ramjohn responded and took Wharwood to the Arima district health facility where he was pronounced dead around 10:50pm.
• Crime scene investigators also visited the scene and recovered eleven spent 9mm shells.
