• The deceased was identified as 21-year-old Levei Gloud of Gonzales and Cunupia.
• Around 8:15pm, Gloud was attending a wake at Upper St. Francois Valley Layan Hill, when other attendees heard a series of loud explosions.
• Upon making checks, they observed Gloud lying on the ground in the front yard bleeding from multiple gunshot injuries.
• Th police were notified and PC Mohammed and WPC Scott responded and quickly conveyed Gloud to the Port-of-Spain General Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
• A party of officers from the Homicide Region One, Port of Spain Task Force, CID Reports Office and officers from the Belmont CID Homicide also responded and are carrying out investigations.
This was the third murder that took place in the Port-of-Spain Division for the week thus far.
Just yesterday, a Massy Distributing employee identified as
42-year-old Che Mendez of Paramin Hill, Maraval was shot dead, while a security officer identified as 54-yearf-old Candy Valentine of Warden Road, South Oropouche was injured while delivering cigarettes to a shop along Fondes Amandes, St Ann’s.
Also on Wednesday 3rd July, 2024, Leon King aka Toby from Block #8, John John, Laventille was gunned down along George Street in Port-of-Spain.
