Police are investigating the murder of a man who was shot and killed in broad daylight near the Tunapuna market, on Saturday 5th August 2023:
• 49-year-old Valmiki Narine, of Pasea Extension, Tunapuna, who was described as a quiet man who loved to drink and lime, was standing in front of Darryl’s Famous Foods, at the corner of St Vincent Street and Eastern Main Road, when he was shot and killed.
• According to reports, around 11 a.m., Vendors and shoppers in the nearby Tunapuna Market scampered for cover when the gunshots rang out.
• It is believed that Narine was standing next to the intended target who was able to escape.
• Narine collapsed after being shot in the stomach, arm, and head by the three gunmen.
• Investigations are continuing.
