A man drowned following a jet ski accident at Pigeon Point in Tobago on Sunday 27th August, 2023.
• The deceased was identified as Mathias Jerry of Les Coteaux, Tobago.
• Jerry was at Pigeon Point Beach when he reportedly got into difficulties while operating his jet ski.
• Jerry then fell into the water and when his body failed to resurface his family members immediately contacted the police.
• A combined search team involving divers from the Coast Guard and others commenced and Jerry’s lifeless body was recovered.
A total of 26 persons died by drowning for the year thus far.
