A house in St. Augustine, which is at the center of controversy before the High Court, was torched by armed suspects who told a security guard on duty “we just doing we wuk” early on Saturday.

• The million-dollar property is located at #6 Scott Street, St. Augustine and was being guarded by a security officer and his K-9, when four armed assailants entered around 1:30 am on Saturday 25th February 2023.
• Two of the suspects were armed with guns and the other two had cutlasses. They accosted the guard and told him “doh make no noise or we will kill yuh”.
• Police said the proceeded into the home carrying gas containers, and one of them told the guard, “we just doing we wuk” before setting fire to the unoccupied premises, which was partially burnt during another arson attempt late last year.
• Officers of the Tunapuna and Wrightson Road Fire Stations responded to the distress call and were able to ensure the blaze did not spread to nearby homes.
• The property had been repossessed by RBC Bank and there is a High Court matter involving Benchmark Construction Limited v Maria Daniel, Zack Nadur, and RBC Royal Bank (Trinidad & Tobago) Limited over the property. PC Singh of the St. Joseph Police Station is probing the incident
