A Freeport man who is known as ‘The Boss of Bangladesh’ was found dead at his home on Sunday 21st May, 2023.
• The deceased was identified as 45-year-old Anthony Goring aka “Anto” of Avocado Drive, Farm Road, St Joseph and Arena Road, Freeport.
• Anto’s address in Freeport was reportedly unknown to many persons as he wanted to keep a low profile.
• At around 10 am, a neighbour saw smoke coming from Anto’s house and went to investigate.
• The neighbour thought Anto wasn’t at home since his van was missing and attempted to put out the fire when he stumbled upon Anto’s body which was doused in pitch oil and set on fire on a mat in the corner of the living room.
• Anto was reportedly beaten and stabbed and burnt beyond recognition by his killer.
• Relatives were notified of the discovery and immediately made a report to the police.
• The suspect stole Anto’s silver Mazda BT-5o reg # TCD 2950, his 75” flatscreen Samsung TV, a pair of Prada shoes and his s21 cellphone.
• Police have stated that robbery was the motive for the gruesome killing but relatives claim that Anto got into an argument with a man who told him to leave his house and think there may be a connection.
Anto’s vehicle was later recovered on Todd’s Road by officers of the Northern Division Task Force.
• The suspects involved in the murder, allegedly drove from arena road to Todd Station Road where they torched Anto’s vehicle and escaped in another car.
• Investigations on the incident are currently ongoing.
