A Doubles Vendor was shot and critically wounded during an assassination attempt

A Doubles Vendor was shot and critically wounded during an assassination attempt after he was lured by a woman who ordered 1,000 bara months after the victim’s home was shot up by men with high-powered weapons.

• 31-year-old Richard Ramkissoon of Orange Grove Trace, St Augustine, was shot in the chest and remains in critical condition at the hospital after a gunman opened fire on him and a 21-year-old in an attempt to kill them early on Wednesday 2nd November, 2022.

• According to police around 6am, Ramkissoon and the 21-year*-*-old man, went to the O’Meara Plaza at O’Meara Road in Arima to deliver 1,000 bara for a customer who said the items were to be shipped abroad.

• A woman emerged from a grey Toyota Station Wagon, with a hoodie on her head and a mask over her face, and paid Ramkissoon $600 in exchange for the bara.

• As the men took the cooler from their vehicle to place in the woman’s car, a male suspect emerged from the front passenger seat armed with a gun and fired 20 shots at both victims, who ran across the roadway in the direction of the abandoned NP gas station.

• Ramkissoon fell into a drain at the side of the roadway. The other man was unhurt and the suspects quickly fled the scene.

• Cpl. Damien Ali and other officers of the Arima CID responded to the shooting and took Ramkissoon to the Arima General Hospital where he was treated. Robbery definitely wasn’t the motive.

• Ramkissoon once worked with the Sauce Doubles family but left and opened his own Doubles stand named Richard’s Doubles in Sangre Grande.
