A businessman was gunned down by bandits who robbed him when he went to deliver goods at Queens Ave, Three B’s Drive, Piarco North Bank Road, Piarco on Monday 12th December 2022.
• The deceased has been identified as 52-year-old Chandan Ramjit aka “Larry” of Hydraulic Trace, Caroni who owns A hardware and mechanical department at his home.
• Reportedly, Ramjit received a call from a woman who identified herself only as Susan.
• The woman ordered several bags of cement and other small items valued at approximately $500 and asked that they be delivered at Queens Avenue, Three B’s Drive, Piarco.
• When Ramjit and a worker got to the location, they were accosted by three armed bandits who proceeded to tie up the worker.
• There was a struggle between Ramjit and one of the bandits who was about to bind him which resulted in him being shot multiple times about the body, before fleeing the scene.
• Ramjit died at the scene of the incident.
