A bandit who shot a man while attempting to rob him of his vehicle in Chase Village on Saturday was shot and killed by an off-duty police man who witnessed the incident.
• The incident happened outside Samkiss Bar along the Southern Main Road in Chase Village around 12:20 am on Saturday 18th February 2023.
• The 23-year-old male victim was shot in the leg when he refused to hand over the keys to his Nissan Tiida motorcar which the suspect demanded.
• Two off-duty police officers, who were at the bar celebrating a birthday, saw what transpired and one of the officers drew his TTPS-issued pistol and shot the suspect who was later declared dead at the Chaguanas District Hospital.
• The officers observed a man of East Indian descent, slim built, clad in a grey coloured hoodie and blue 3/4 pants, approaching a parked Nissan Tiida.
