A 70-year-old man was killed in a road accident early on Sunday 30th October, 2022, along the Churchill Roosevelt Highway, Trincity, one day before his certificate of insurance expired.
• The deceased has been identified as 70-year-old Anthony Stephen’s of Building 5 Unit F Oropune Gardens, Piarco.
• Around 4:20am, WPC Kelly and PC Mahabir of the Northern Division Highway Patrol were on static duty at the Trincity intersection when they heard a loud crashing sound.
• Upon investigating, the officers discovered a Nissan Tiida motor cat registration PDG 9395 crashed into the median of the highway with the driver suffering from head injuries.
• The victim was later identified as Anthony Stephens and the EHS was summoned to the scene.
• Stephens was taken to the Mt. Hope Hospital where he subsequently died.
