A 60-year-old man was found shot to death, execution style at Blake Avenue Extension, Guaico, Sangre Grande on Wednesday 09th November, 2022.
• Around 11:00am, Benji Russel’s decomposing body was found by his friend, Peter Samuel, after he and another man got a stench coming from near his home and went to investigate.
• According to Samuel, who spoke with the media at the scene, he last saw his friend alive on Friday and became suspicious after he did not hear from him for several days.
• After Russell’s body was found, the police were notified and officers discovered that he had a bullet wound to the back of the head. A 9mm spent casing was also found at the scene.
• However, residents in the area have expressed shock over the incident saying that they thought Russell died from natural causes and they never heard any gunshot in the area.
