A 25-year-old Diego Martin resident tried to save the life of a 2-year-old boy who was among 4 persons shot dead in Diego Martin early this morning…

• Around 1:20am on Sunday 23rd October, 2022, a resident heard several loud explosions followed by a crashing sound along the Diego Martin Main Road near Winnie Mohammed Street.

• Upon investigating he saw a silver B-15 motor car registration PBP 2257 crashed into the wall outside his home.

The 25-year-old man then sprung into action and placed Nicholas Owen, Khadijah Villabrera and 2-year-old Nazim Owen in his private vehicle and took them to the St. James Medical Facility.

• Nazim was declared dead while his parents, Nicholas and Khadijah, were medically treated and transferred to the Port of Spain General Hospital.

• Officers of the Western Division subsequently responded to the shooting around 1:20am and found two men and a woman dead with gunshot injuries about their bodies inside the B-15 car.

• A female, identified as Chelsea Julien, was also found in the vehicle with gunshot injuries and appeared to be alive. She was taken to the hospital by police but was declared dead on arrival.

• Omari Gloster aka “Marie” and Akil Keron Gloster aka “Crime B” both members of a gang at Rich Plain Road in Diego Martin, who were said to be the targets, were identified as the men who died inside the vehicle.

• Visiting the scene were ASP Simons, Insp Basant, Insp Grant; Homicide officers, Insp Lynch, Sgt Harryperssad, Acting Sgt. Panchu, PC Charles, PC Jobe and WPC Paul.

Flashback: Omari and Akil Gloster were relatives of Dwayne Gloster, also known as Frankie, who was shot dead in a drive-by at Ann Avenue, Diego Martin, in October 2021.

• Six years ago Dwayne, his two brothers and five of their neighbours were acquitted of the murder of former Xtra Foods chief executive Vindra Naipaul-Coolman.
