51-year-old Sharaz Faizal Mohammed of California, who was caught stealing groceries at a mini-mart at the corner of Carlos Street and the Couva Main Road on Wednesday 28th September 2022, was spared a jail term after the owner of the business forgave him and offered him a job.
• Mohammed was caught stealing six packs of powdered milk, hand soap, three bottles of baby oil, shampoo and conditioner and three jars of Vaseline and a bottle of bleach valuing a total of $374.
• He pleaded guilty when he appeared before Couva Magistrate Alexander Prince and was placed on a $10,000 bond to keep the peace for three (3) years.
• Mohammed was however taken to prison on a 25-year-old outstanding for a fine he failed to pay.
