Tragedy in Trincity last evening after a 4-year-old girl was found floating at the bottom of a pool at a gated community.
• The incident happened sometime around the child has been identified as Venezuelan national, Mafer Valentina Guevara of Carlos Street, Williamsville.
• According to police, around 6pm on Andrea Medina of Carlos Street in Williamsville, San Fernando, was at the home of a male friend at East Gates on the greens in Trincity.
• The trio just came out of bathing in the pool and returned indoors to change their clothes. Mafer asked to use the washroom and when she did not return a check was made for her but she could not be located.
• The child was later discovered floating at the bottom of the pool. She was taken out of the water and conveyed to the medical associate’s private hospital in St. Joseph but attempts by emergency doctor Boodoosingh but Mafer was declared dead around 7:37pm.
Mafer Guevara was the fourth (4) person who died by drowning for the year thus far.
