Four men were reported missing on Friday afternoon after they did not return from a 4-day fishing trip. The missing fishermen of Grand Lagoon are captain Heeralal Kublal, Rishi Kemchan and two others identified as George and Tallman.
Reports are, on Sunday, the boat, Benom TFN 5906, was found in the Cedros area, with no one on board but the engines still on the boat leading to believe that it wasn’t a pirate attack. This is also said to be the first fishing trip with this vessel.
Guayaguayare fisherfolk are assisting the Trinidad & Tobago Coast Guard in the search along with members of the Hunters Search and Rescue Team. Member of Parliament for Mayaro Rushton Paray is coordinating with all involved.
