A man was gunned down while asleep at his friend’s home in Fyzabad early on Sunday 16th April, 2023.
• The deceased was identified as 37-year-old Kern Alexis.
• Alexis had reportedly asked his friend to stay at his home in Dubarry Street, Fyzabad for two nights.
• Around 11:00pm on Saturday, Alexis had reportedly retired to bed.
• At about 3:00am on Sunday, Alexis’ friend was awakened after several loud explosions rang out.
• Upon investigating, the man found Alexis lying on the bed in the bedroom he was occupying downstairs, with gunshot injuries to his head and immediately contacted the police.
• A team of officers from the South Western Division, as well as the Homicide Bureau, led by Insp Corrie, Sgt Jacobs and PC Lutchman responded and are carrying out investigations.
