hree men were jailed for stealing TSTT cables by a Couva Magistrate after they pleaded guilty to the offences.
• 33-year-old Jason Andrews, a labourer of California, pleaded guilty to the offence when he appeared before Magistrate Alexander Prince, in the Couva second magistrates’ court, on Tuesday. He was jailed for 12 months hard labour.
• Around 6 am on Sunday 24th July, 2022, officers responded to a report of men cutting TSTT cables at Dow Village, California and Andrews were arrested.
In the second incident, 33-year-old Anderson Bedeau, a welder and 19-yearold Keshawn Simmons, both of Couva, also pleaded guilty to stealing TSTT cables before Magistrate Alexander Prince, in the Couva Second Magistrates’ Court.
• Bedeau and Simmons were each sentenced to 12 months hard labour.
• Around 1:45 am on Monday 25th July, 2022, estate constables of Amalgamated Security Services responded to a report of larceny TSTT cables in the Couva district. Bedeau and Simmons were arrested and charged.
